The FINAL Hurrah - Keyboard Cat

I have chosen the article on Tween Tribune about the “Keyboard Cat” video, basically this is a video of people who make silly mistakes and then a short clip of the cat playing the keyboard comes on. The cat seems to be teasing the people; it looks like he is making fun of them. This video speaks to me because I have never in whole life seen anything as funny as this. Every time I see the cat playing his piano, it makes me feel guilty about all the bad things I have done wrong in my life because he seems to have an evil, unforgiving look on his face even though he is playing a very happy and upbeat tune. This video relates to my life because when I was young I would always watch the T.V. show “Australia’s Funniest Home Videos”. I would always become very sad when I saw similar accidents happening, but now that I see the keyboard cat play after each accident I laugh. This video is so hilarious that i think the public should be forced to watch it, just so that everyone can have the experience of seing Keyboard Cat.

Into The Unknown

Sudan is a war torn country, where millions of lives have been destroyed during the civil strife between the Arab Herders and the African Farmers. However there is still some hope for the luckiest of this country's poor inhabitants. Two of these lucky boys have been given a chance at a new life in America, but their future in the States may not be as easy and fun as it first appeared to be.

Peter and Santino have seen almost all that Africa can throw at them; their families taken away in front of their eyes, lions eating their friends, the government of their own country shooting at them, and the skin on their feet wearing down so much, that there is only a bloody piece of flesh resembling their foot, left over. The problems in Kakuma Refugee Camp may not have been that severe, but it was still pretty rough. Living with no electricity or running water, disease was very common with so many people in such close quarters, families being separated daily and overpopulation were just a few of the many of problems that these brave boys faced. But for Santino and Peter life just kept getting better. In America they had a house, a car, and they were treated kindly and given belongings.

However, living in America wasn't always this good, since they had poor English skills, they seemed to be having trouble with the law. For example, they weren't aware of the fact that you had to have a license and car insurance to drive; they didn't have either of those. Another problem that they experienced was when they first came to school several of the other students looked at them in very impolite ways. This rude behaviour made them feel excluded and different. When Peter played basketball with some of the local kids, they attempted to steal things out of his pockets because they figured he wasn't used to that and therefore they could steal things from him without him noticing their actions.

The jobs that they could apply for were very limited due to their lack of a complete education, therefore they could only earn about $7 per hour. This small sum of money was insufficient to pay for rent, petrol, and to send money back to Africa.

On the other hand, their friends from school were very kind and empathetical towards them, inviting them to a party and including them at the lunch table at school.

One unfortunate incident is when their house got broken into, which meant that they would have even less money to support themselves, and their families in Africa.

These were only some of the experiences that formed part of the culture shock they felt. They dealt with this by trying their hardest to improve their English skills and they also increased their efforts to make new friends whenever they could, also they stayed focused and made sure that they were doing exactly what their teachers asked them to. Staying focused meant that life was more stable for them, and they could fall into a simple routine which they would follow everyday.
Peter and Santino have experienced more in their lives than we will ever get the chance to experience.

A Bloody Experience - Memoir

I squeezed both of the brake levers as hard as my fingers would allow in a final attempt to slow my out-of-control machine, but my attempts were destined to fail. My knuckles were turning white from my squeezing, but of course when you’re travelling at 50 km/h and you hold the front brake; the bike is going to flip forwards. All i could see was the dry, brown soil. My feet had been bent up in the air and my bike's constantly accelerating chain was rapidly grinding its way through my kidney belt and jersey, becoming scarily close to my now exposed hip. The sheer terror that rushed through my body as i helplessly watched my fate be unravelled was absolutely overpowering. In desperation, i wriggled around to try and squirm away from the machine, but that just caused that bike to fall onto my back and tear my pale skin apart. I shrieked in terror and panic as i saw my my purplish blood oozing out of the now shredded flesh that used to be my hip. As adrenaline started pulsing through my veins, I realised that I had to turn off the engine before it injured me even further. I flipped the 57kg killer in to its wheels so i could hit the kill switch. I found the big red button and punched it with my filthy gloved right hand. I almost fainted due to sheer exhaustion, but then I figured I should try to get my parents to treat my oozing sore. Since I was trembling with the aftershock of my experience I wasn’t even able to shout for help from my Mum and Dad. I collapsed in the dried up riverbed next to my mechanical foe, my heart still pounding away in my chest, and it felt as if i had a huge ticking time bomb there. I heard my Dad casually calling out to see if i was okay, but as soon as he rounded the bend and saw me lying on the ground he threw his bike aside and sprinted towards me as if he was as saviour coming out of the gates of Heaven. There was a horrific look of fear painted across his face and he was repeatedly stuttering "Case, what happened? Are you okay?" i tried my best to answer but i could only manage to mumble "Crashed...back hurts...blood". With some kind of amazing surge of strength and a little grunt, my Dad slung me over his shoulder and dragged the motorcycle all of the 500 metres back to the house where i fell straight onto the hammock and slept like a stone due to pue exhaustion and shock. The last thoughts i had were of the tire tracks leading across the bridge and into the riverbed. When i woke up, i was feeling 100% and my scar now had a bandage across it, the sun was just setting and the sausages were sizzling on the barbeque. It was a perfect end to a scary day.

In The Rubber Coils

People colonize other countries because it makes their empire stronger, because they think they have the right to and because they think that they have to teach them Christianity. Exploitation happens very often when one country colonizes another. It happened so often because they think that it is the only way for the colonizers to get what they want out of the colonized nation and people. Another reason that exploitation happened so often was because the locals did not know better than to give them half of their food or half of their income. In these ways the Europeans were able to guarantee that they would be in a situation where they could only gain wealth.

Apology to The Aborigines

An apology is one of the most crucial ways to ensure that a relationship of one kind or another stays intact. Apologies are a surefire way to mend friendships and to regain trust, and in this case the apology is to the Aborigines of Australia. In this situation the impact on the Aborigines is quite large, however it makes Kevin Rudd and the population of Australia lower themselves until the are basically begging for forgiveness. This apology can't mend everyone's hearts but it can make a difference, this apology has made most Aborigines feel accepted by the new western community that inhabits Australia. Before this apology the Aborigines were still thought of as lower than white people, but now all people who live in Australia as thought of as equal. And that is why so many people are immigrating into Australia these days, because it's such a multicultural place; anyone and everyone is accepted. Kevin Rudd did make a difference to the Aboriginal community of Australia, and to the general community as well. His apology made a change for the better.

How this quote represnts me

My Quote is "Cleverness is not wisdom" (Euripides).
I think that this quote represnts me because in a sense i am not clever. But if i am not clever, then who is? Also if i am clever, then according to this quote i must be wise! I don't think that i'm wise; and if i'm not wise then i must be clever! So i think that i am clever, and that is why i think that this quote represents me.
I picked this photo because Albert Einstein is a lot like me in the sense that we are both clever. And since we are both clever that means that we're both not wise.
